Beloved wife of the late Samuel Henry Ritchie and dear mother of Howard, Stratford; and Harold, of Nairn Centre. Predeceased by one son. Lorne Edward, and a daughter, Hazel Irene (Mrs John Livingstone). Much loved grandmother to David Ritchie. Dear sister of Hattie (Mrs T.J. White), Paxton, Illinois. Rested at the Gamble and Comba Funeral Home, 127 Church Street, Almonte where service was held on Saturday at 2 p.m. Spring interment Auld Kirk Cemetery. 1978, Wednesday April 26, The Almonte Gazette page 12 MAE EVA RITCHIE The death of Mrs. Mae Eva Ritchie, widow of the late Samuel Henry Ritchie, occurred at the Almonte hospital, on Wednesday, April 19, 1978, following a brief illness. Mrs. Ritchie, who was in her 95th year, was a resident of Fairview Manor. Born in Shawville, Que., on September 6, 1883, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Monterville. She was a member of Almonte Baptist Church. Mrs. Ritchie is survived by two sons, Howard S. Ritchie of Stratford, Ont., and Harold E. Ritchie of Nairn Centre, Ont., a sister, Hattie (Mrs. T. J. White) of Paxton, Illinois; and grandchildren, David E. Ritchie and Mrs. Ann P. Brockson. She was predeceased by a son, Lorne E. Ritchie; a daughter, Hazel I. Ritchie (Mrs. John Livingston); three brothers, Wilbert, Samuel and George Monterville, and a sister, Nina (Mrs. G. Hirons). The funeral was held from the Gamble & Comba Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on April 22, with interment at Auld Kirk Cemetery, Rev. Gordon Lanctot officiating. The pallbearers were John Elliott, Dawson MacDowall, Paul MacDowall, Lloyd Simpson, Eric Simpson and Murray Guthrie.
