  (Research):1881 Canada Census, Ramsay Township, Alexander is listed as beign 12 years old. In Detroit when his father died in 1893. In New York at time of Mother's death 1908. In Penticton, BC in 1941 when Wm. J. died. ?u?letter from Jos. G Harris, Curator, RN Atkinson Museum, 785 Main St. Penticton BC, V2A 5E3 14 Aug 1980 ?/u?"A Duncan, ranching" is in the 1936 British Columbia Directory, Jubilee Edition. ?u?From Art Thompson, Box 334 Cartwright MB letter dated 16 Nov 1973.?/u? "Another brother, Alexander, lived for a short period of time on Robert's farm where he had a cave dug in the bank of the Badger Creek. I visited the spot some years ago but it had fallen in and hardly recognizable" Death date from BC Vital statistics, Reg. 1949-09-0024606, microfilm #B13200, GSU 2032570 Family History Library Film 1375869. Not listed in the 1911 census for 'Yale & Cariboo District 14 (checked 41, 42, Peachland and Naramata). Could not find a marked grave in area indicated by cemetery records. Nearby is a marker for ?u?John Gray Duncan?/u? who passed away in the Penticton hospital on 5 Jan 1949. In his obituary, it is indicated that he was born in Scotland, lived in Penticton area for 38 years, died at age 85, and was survived by 1 brother, 2 sisters in England. From Memoires of James Alvin Duncan youngest son of James Sidney Duncan an older brother of Alexander Duncan's Alexander articled in Law and left Almonte for New York. Little is really known of his activities and events there. But Alexander became stone deaf and returned to his elder brother Robert at Cartwright, Manitoba in 1914. He remained there for some few years and then left for Penticton, B.C. Little was heard from him after he left. He died and was buried there, the actual date unknown but believed to be the in early fifties. Alexander never married.
