Deceased was slight;y past her 58th year. She was born at Almonte, near Ottawa, Ontario, and came to Claresholm as a bride 40 years ago, residing here until the family home was moved to Calgary about four years ago. Her maiden name was Moir. Surviving are her husband, James Eric Moffatt; one son, Ross, in Calgary; one brother & three sisters: G.B. Moir of Barons; Mrs C.V. McClelland of Albuquerque. New Mexico Mrs Fletcher Andrews of Winnipeg Mrs W.D. (Agnes) Munro of Winnipeg two small grandchildren. Another sister, Christine Moir, a nurse, died in New York in 1911. Mrs Moffatt had been afflicted with a heart condition for a number of years, requiring her to withdraw from strenuous physical or social activities. She had borne with fortitude the tragic loss of a number of children, one incident being the death of a child on the train when returning from a trip to Ottawa. She was associated with the United Church in Claresholm and with the Central United Church in Calgary. The remains were prepared for burial by Leyden Funeral Home in Calgary and sent to Ringrose Funeral Home in Claresholm for the funeral.
