  	Wife of John Publow Married April 24, 1872 at Bathurst Twp., Lanark County, Ontario Mrs. Isabella Publow A well known pioneer of the west has passed away in the person of Mrs. Isabella Publow of Calgary. The deceased left Carlton Place, Ontario, in the late seventies, and became one of the earliest settlers in southern Manitoba. She possessed the pioneer spirit and was a highly regarded member of the community life in the pioneer settlement. Following the death of her husband, in 1893, Mrs. Publow moved with her family to Fort William, where she resided until coming to Calgary in 1905. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. S. F. Flatt, Toronto; Mrs. C. E. White, Edmonton; Mrs. S. Hayes and Mrs. J. A. Eoll of Melfort, Saskatchewan. Excerpt from The Calgary Daily Herald, October 14, 1930, page 8
