  	Mr. Samuel Lowry, an old and highly respected resident of Pakenham Township, died at his residence on the 12th April. He was born in County Down, Ireland in 1817 and was therefore 68 years old at the time of his death. He was an influential member of the Methodist Church and for many years led the singing for the denomination in his home church. He left a wife and large family to mourn his loss. His remains were interred in the cemetery at Cedar Hill, Carleton Place Herald Source: Perth Courier
