  	1953, Thursday November 19, The Almonte Gazette page 4 Herbert O. Simpson There passed away suddenly at the R.M. Hospital on Monday, Nov 9th, one of Almonte's esteemed residents in the person of Herbert Oswald Simpson. He was in his 77th year, the younger son of the late William Simpson and Ann Forgie. He was one of a family of thirteen children of whom only two survive, Martha, at home and Marion (Mrs Dodds) of Tisdale, Sask. Funeral service was conducted at his late residence on Union Street on Wednesday Nov 11th, by Rev A. Hirtle of the Almonte Baptist Church, assisted by Rev Alfred Milligan of Perth who lead in prayer. The funeral service was attended by many friends from the surrounding district and some from a distance including Messrs John and William Ryder of Toronto and Mr and Mrs Graydon Willoughby and daughter of Ottawa. Interment was made in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers were six nephews.
