  	Thomas James Hodgins - His death occurred in the Ottawa Civic Hospital, following an illness of three weeks after an operation, which in spite of the best medical and careful nursing, he passed peacefully away on Saturday morning. The late Mr. Hodgins was born on the sixth concession of Huntley 60 years ago, being the only son of the late John Hodgins and his wife Eleanor McVeitty. He is survived by his widow, formerly Emma F. Baird, of Fitzroy, and three children, Hartley of Ottawa, Orville and Mary at home; one grandson, Ralph Hodgins of Ottawa; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Milne and Miss Minnie Hodgins of Ottawa and Mrs. Harry J. Shaw of Panmure. The deceased was one of the best known residents of Huntley Township. He lived an unusually active, useful life and his genial manner and cheery personality made friends for him everywhere and he will be keenly missed not only in the family circle and immediate neighborhood, but by a very wide circle of friends throughout the County. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon from his late residence to St. John's Anglican Church where service was conducted by the rector, Dean J. C. Andreson. Burial was in the family plot, St. Paul's 9th line, Fitzroy. Beautiful floral offerings were received from the following: Pillow the family and grandsons; cross, Mr. and Mrs. L. Cavanagh and Mrs. R.H.Greene; wreaths, Mr. and Mrs. R.T.Law, staff of Home Steam Laundry, Mrs. P. McEvoy and Arnold; sprays, the sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Geo Greene and Family, Auburn and Mrs. Rivington, Misses Mabel and Pearl Shaw, Gordon Milne, George Moreton; cut flowers, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Montgomery and Evelyn. the funeral was one of the largest ever seen in the neighborhood.
