  	1949, Thursday July 7, The Almonte Gazette page 4 John Sutherland The death occurred at his home at Almonte on June 23rd of John Sutherland, following a brief illness. He was in his 85th year. Mr Sutherland was born in Ramsay township, and was a son of the late John Sutherland and Jessie Nicholson. He had lived in Almonte for the past thirty years. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary McKay The funeral was conducted by the Rev H.C. Wolfraim, from his late residence to the Auld Kirk Cemetery on Friday, June 25th. The pallbearers were Nelson McKay, Milton Symington, Alex Symington, Errol Manson and William Creighton. Among the floral offerings were pieces from Bethany Church and staff of Hotel Almonte.
