  	Gussie's obituary was published in the Monday, April 8, 1968 issue of the Kansas City Star, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri: "Mrs. George Lashbrook, Sr. Mrs. Gussie R. Lashbrook, 74, of 5844 Park, died yesterday at Lakeside hospital. She was born in Perus, Ia., and had lived here 50 years. She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic church. She leaves her husband, George W. Lashbrook, sr., of the home; a son, George W. Lashbrook, Jr, 2429 East Sixty-seventh; a daughter, Mrs. Anne Ellen Holt, 4031 East Sixty-eighth Terrace; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 o'clock Wednesday at the Newcomer chapel, Brush Creek and the Paseo; burial in Memorial Park cemetery. A rosary will be said at 8:15 o'clock Tuesday night at the chapel, where friends may call after 5 o'clock."
