  	Ferd and Gertrude were married on Feb 9, 1948 and lived in Faribault throughout their marriage. He was a dedicated farmer for 37 years before retiring. Ferd & Trudy then spent winters in McAllen, Texas where he died. After Ferd passed away, Trudy sold part of the farm to Rice County. A 60 acre parcel of this land was developed and dedicated to Ferdinand as "Caron Park". It is complete with a sheltered picnic area, hiking trails and a stream flowing though the woods - a wonderful nature study area.
