August 12th, 1896 In Beckwith, last Friday, Mrs. David Cram, of the IIIh conc. Born Ann Nicholson, in Yorkshire, England, in 1819, she came with her parents to this country in 1820. Settling first at Elizabethtown, they afterwards moved to Ramsay to Leckie's Crs. In 1838, at the age of 18 years, she married David Cram, son of Peter Cram, the first settler in the twp. John Cram was in fact the first settIer. A brother of David, he came in 1818. She had eleven children of whom eight now survive. Of the Nicholson family, only James Nicholson, of Ramsay, survives at the age of 86 years.
