  	1948, Thursday February 5, The Almonte Gazette front page Final Tribute Paid To Constable Rose Funeral Service For Former Provincial Constable Held In Bethany Church Impressive tribute was paid to the memory of Frank Rose on Saturday afternoon when Bethany United Church was filled with sorrowing friends and relatives. Mr Rose who served as a member of the Ontario Provincial Police for 22 years, passed away on Thursday morning, Jan 29 in the Great War Memorial Hospital Perth following an illness of several weeks' duration. He was in his 52nd year. Born on the Rose homestead in Pakenham Township, Constable Rose was the son of the late Nathaniel Rose and his wife Margaret Core. His youth was spent in this district and during World War One, he served overseas with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He served with the Police Force for many years at Morrisburg and was widely known throughout the whole Ottawa Valley. At the time of his death, he was senior constable at Perth district headquarters where he had been located for the past ten years. Left to mourn are his wife, the former Kathleen Arthur of Ramsay Township, two daughters, Miss Barbara of the Public School staff of Middleville, Miss Margaret at home and one brother Mr Ed Rose of Pakenham Township. Services were held at Perth on Saturday and the cortege proceeded thence to Almonte. Rev W.R. Alp presided at the service in Bethany Church, assisted by the minister, Rev H.C. Wolfraim and Rev T.R. Hutcheson of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. Some 40 members of the Provincial Police Force attended in a body, six of whom acted as pallbearers. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.
