  	Alice R. Clawson, 86, Topeka, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at a Topeka nursinghome. She was born Sept. 27, 1912, in Lawrence, the daughter of Carl and Gladys Morgan Rerick. She was reared in Lawrence and attended the University of Kansas. She lived in Linwood for 40 years before she moved to Topeka about 20 years ago. Mrs. Clawson was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a volunteer for Friendly Visitors at the church. She also raised and showed African Violets. She married Arden Clawson on Feb. 25, 1934, in Lawrence. He died Dec. 20, 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Janice Coffee, Manhattan; a son, Eldon Clawson, Wakarusa; and seven grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Clawson will lie in state after noon today at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Northern Area Office, 1315 S,W, Arrowhead Road, Topeka, 66604.
