The death occurred at the Cowan Nursing Home, R.R. #, Almonte, on Sunday morning, April 29th, 1973, of Rachel Lillian Hodgins, beloved wife of the late Harvey Miller, following a lengthy illness. Mrs Miller, who had resided at 131 Spring Street, Almonte, was in her 74th year. A daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth Hodgins, she was born in Fitzroy Township on July 10, 1899. She received her education at Kilmaurs and Stittsville. She was married at Carleton Place to the late Harvey Miller on October 30, 1934. She was a member of the United Church. Mrs Miller is survived by one brother and three sisters, Wesley Hodgins, Carleton Lodge, Ottawa; Jennie, Mrs Gilbert Healy, Stittsville; Florence, Mrs Albert Syme, Carleton Place, and Ethel of Ottawa. The funeral was held from the Comba Funeral Home, Church street, Almonte, on Tuesday, May 1st, 1973, at 2 p.m., with burial at Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev Kenneth Murray of Zion-Memorial United Church, Carleton Place, conducted the services. Pallbearers were Howard Hodgins, Allen Hodgins, Clare Syme, Albert Morrison, Howard Fulton and Emerson Hodgins.
