George's obituary was published in the Tuesday, March 4, 1975 issue of the Kansas City Star, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri: "George W. Lashbrook George W. Lashbrook, 54, of 900 Ute, Independence, died Sunday at Research Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident. Mr. Lashbrook was a hoisting engineer. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Independence. He was a committee-man for Boy Scout Troop No. 221. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dorlis Lashbrook, and a son, Pete Lashbrook, both of the home; a sister, Mrs. Anna E. Holt, 4031 E. 68th Terrace, and six grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Park Lawn Chapel; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the chapel, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association."
