  	On May 9, 2015 in her 89th year, at her home in Ottawa. Beloved wife of Austin (Tim) for 63 years. Loving Mother of Joanne Bates (John), Leslie Grant (Ron). Cherished grandmother of Lindsey Serlin (Joey), and proud great grandmother to Ella, Leo and Sadie Serlin. Predeceased by brother Lt. Roy Silliphant and sisters, Francis Silliphant , Barbara Turner and Mary Kelly. Zita was a creative and gifted writer, with a love of music, cooking, fashion, and travel, and an avid patron of the arts. As a military wife, she offered great support to her husband and family in 5 different countries: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Canada. In later years she and her husband enjoyed taking cruises to many interesting ports of call. She made many cherished friends along the way and made them a priority throughout her life. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Friends are invited to visit the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre Thursday, May 14th after 10 a.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Scared Space at 11 a.m. followed by Interment at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces. A reception in honour of Zita will be held in the Fleming Suite. In Memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society greatly appreciated by the family.
