  	rom FAG Contributor # 49329383 1887, Friday 8 July 1887 Another Old Resident Gone The Carleton Place Herald says: About eight o'clock on Monday evening, Dr. Wilson, who has been ailing for the past six weeks or so from the effects of a fall received about that time, passed away to meet his Maker. Deceased was a native of Rutherglen, Scotland, and came to this country when quite young. Before coming to Carleton Place he practised in Lanark Village, half a century ago. During the short time he resided in Lanark he married, and his wife survives him, Eleven children blessed this union, all of whom are alive. The daughters are Mrs Henry McPherson, Mrs Findlay Sinclair, Mrs Crampton, Mrs Metcalf, Mrs Berry, Mrs C. Patterson and Mrs J. Griffith. The sons are Joseph, William, John and Alexander. Dr Wilson has been a resident of Carleton Place for 47 years or more and was the first resident physician. He was a prominent man in his day but latterly was pretty much retired. He had passed the allotted time of four score years, being 82 years of age. Like most Scotchmen the doctor was a Presbyterian in religion and a member of St Andrew's Church. He was buried in the 8th line cemetery under Masonic honours.
