He died Wednesday, November 20th in a convalescent hospital at Redding following a long illness. William was born in Fort Ransom, North Dakota Territory on November 20, 1881 to parents William Thomas and Ellen (Madigan) Kidd. In 1901 he moved with his parents to Whiteson near McMinnville, Oregon where his parents started the Kidd Farm. On October 16, 1912 he married Goldie Elizabeth Beacom at Whiteson, Oregon. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1971. He was a carpenter in the construction industry in Amity, Klamath Falls, and Portland, Oregon. William later moved to the Corning -Paskenta area where he and his wife spent their retirement years. William was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Tillamook, Oregon and a member of the Christian Science Church. He is survived by his daughter Lila Ross (Gus) of Redding; a son Ellsworth "Lyle" Kidd (Norma) of Winslow, Arizona; brother Frank Kidd (Elizabeth) of Salem, Oregon; and two sisters, Clara Mae DeMonbrun (David) of Garden Grove and Bertha Alice Woodward (Oscar) of Long Beach; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is buried at Sunset Hill Cemetery next to his wife Goldie. (The Sacramento Bee - Sacramento California - Friday, October 6, 1972, pg 19, col. 1)
