  	11944, Thursday April 13, The Almonte Gazette front page ?b?Nursing Sister Flora H. Wylie?/b? The death occurred early Monday morning in the Kingston General Hospital of Nursing Sister Flora H. Wylie, R.R.C., daughter of the late Capt William Hamilton Wylie and his wife, Margaret Maitland Wylie. Sister Wylie graduated from the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, and qualified shortly afterwards at the Halifax Military Hospital as a C.A.M.C. Sister. When the war broke out in 1914, she joined the first Overseas contingent and was stationed in England and France for the duration. Shortly after her return to Canada, she joined the permanent force, serving in various military hospitals concluding with eight years at the Royal Military College in Kingston. She was awarded the R.R.C., the A.R.R.C., the 1914-15 and coronation medals. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs A.K. Sutherland, Milwaukee; Mrs Russell Young, Philadelphia aan Mrs C. B. Dawson of Winnipeg; an uncle A.C. Wylie of Almonte and an aunt, Mrs Orr Bennett of St Catharines. The funeral service was held Tuesday morning in Kingston and the cortege proceeded direct to the Auld Kirk Cemetery at Almonte where a short service was conducted by the Rev A.J. Fowlie of the Almonte Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were W.C. Pollock, Dr J.K. Kelly, P.A. Greig and Captain J.H. Wylie.
