  	1959, Thursday December 10, The Almonte Gazette, page 7 ?b?Miss Elizabeth Cameron?/b? The death occurred in Ottawa on Tuesday, Dec 1st, of Miss Elizabeth Cameron in her 83rd year. She was born in Almonte on March 23rd, 1877, the third daughter of Robert and Jessie (Anderson) Cameron. The late Miss Cameron entered the civil service at an early age. She served in the post office department when the late Sir William Mulock was Postmaster General of Canada. later she was private secretary of the late E.J. Lemaire, Clerk of the Privy Council. In all, she was 38 years in the civil service and on her retirement continued to reside for some time in Ottawa, later moving to Victoria, B.C. Some years ago she returned to Almonte with her sister, Mary and lived in residence on Union Street. When the sister passed away she continued to reside here until failing health due to a heart condition made it necessary for her to enter the Rockwood nursing home in Ottawa where death ensued on Dec 1st. She is survived by one sister Isabel, Mrs R.H. MacNeil, of Sherridon, Man., and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held on Dec 3rd from Ottawa to the Auld Kirk Cemetery where interment was made in the family plot.
