During the festivities and general good cheer of Christmas, the whole community was saddened when it became known that death had removed an old and highly respected resident in the person on Mrs. Kidd, widow of the late Henry Kidd. Deceased lady had been ill for some time at the residence of her son, John, Adjala, but had appeared somewhat better recently and her death came unexpectedly, caused by heart trouble. The funeral was held on Saturday to St. John's cemetery, Mono, and was largely attended, services being conducted by Rev. F. Davey, who also preached a memorial sermon in the Presbyterian Church, of which deceased was a member, on the following Sabbath morning. The deceased's maiden name was Wright. She was born 65 years ago in this vicinity, and has resided here since that time, and possessed many good qualities. She was a good wife and mother, a consistent Church member, a kind friend and a neighbor. She was pre-deceased by her husband some years ago and leaves behind a large family to mourn her loss. The family are one son in Mulmur, Mrs. Jas. Arlow, Mrs. Robert Arlow, Mrs. Robert Hurst, of Toronto, Mrs. Joseph Darragh and Maggie, John and James at home.
