SWIFT CURRENT. - St. Andrews Presbyterian church povided the setting for a pretty wedding ceremony on Friday, July 4, when Ionia Gwendolyn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Forsythe, became the bride of Donald Mackenzie Barr, Regina, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barr, Milden. Rev. C. Younger-Lewls officiated. The church was decorated with potted plants, ferns, and flowers and white bows marked oft the guest pews. To the strains of the bridal chorus from Lohengrin played by Mrs, Allan J. Cameron, Ottawa, aunt of the bride, the bride entered the church with her father. She was gowned in white triple sheer, her white chapel veil falling from a pleated Mary Queen of Scots tiara. She carried a bouquet of Joanna Hill roses. Miss Eleanor Forsythe, bridesmaid, wore a gown of pink double net over taffeta with pale blue trimming. and carried a bouquet of carnations. Stuart McBean was best man and Cameron Mackay and Harold McMahon were ushers. Mrs. J. M. Ritchie, Ottawa, sister of the bride, sang O Promise Me and a double trio consisting of Misses Margaret Phiip, Doreen Clements, Alwyne Kane, Kathleen James, Betty Phiip and Helen Scobie rendered "I Love Thee".
A reception was held at the home of the brides parents. The bride's table was daintily appointed with a cutwork and lace cloth and centred by a tiered cake. Smilax interwound with sweet peas extended from the centre of the table to the corners, and tall white tapers completed the setting. Mrs. J. Forsythe and Mrs. J. R. Hutchison presided and Mrs. W. A. Moore and Mrs. B. Wiseman cut the ices. Serving were Misses Margaret Philp, Betty Philp, Doreen Clements, Alwyne Kane, Kathleen James, Helen Scobie, Pauline Koslick, Jean Young, Phyllis Longmore, Phyllis Hutchinson, Helen Shields, Bernice Downing Mary Castagner, Rita Ewert and Mrs. Glenn Downing. Toast to the bride was proposed by Harold McMahon.
The bridal couple left by motor for Regina. They will live at 2304 Regina avenue. For travelling the bride wore a grey and blue ensemble with corsage of pink roses. Out of town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Barr, Mr. and Mrs. T. Barr, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bricker, Frank Garrison, Robert Gilmour, all of Milden, Mr. and Mrs. Allan J. Cameron, Mrs. J. M Ritchie and Margaret Ann of Oltawa, Miss Jean Millar Petty Ofilcer Monty Shore, Victoria, Harold McMahon and John Joyce, Saskatoon; Mrs. W. D.
