There passed away at her home in Almonte on Wednesday, October 5th, Mrs Duncan Cram whose long residence in this town must appeal to the sentiment of a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. The late Mrs Cram, whose maiden name was Marguerite Paterson was the daughter of the late John Paterson and May Wilson of Appleton, from whose home she was married about thirty-six years ago to Mr Duncan Cram, of Appleton. For a great many years Mr and Mrs Cram resided on Church street, where Mr Cram owned considerable property. Mr Cram died in 1905 leaving his widow who had since resided on Church Street. Mrs Cram was one of a family of seven children, four boys and three girls: James, Andrew, William and John Paterson, also Jennie, Mrs H. Higgins, of New York and Mary deceased. The deceased was a lady of kindly disposition who enjoyed to an unusual extent the sympathy and respect of friends and neighbours. Though not enjoying the best of health of late years and seldom leaving her home she exhibited a patience and cheerfulness that might well set an example to all who knew her. The funeral which was held on Friday, October 7, from her home to Bethany United Church, where the service was held, was attended by many of her old friends and acquaintances. The pallbearers were Messrs J.J. Munroe, and Neil Munroe, cousins of deceased, Mr J. Paul, Mr J. Neilson, Mr Wm Black, Dr T.R. Paterson. Interment was made in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.
