- Margaret passed away in her 87th. year at Lanark Place on Tuesday with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband John (Jack) B. Hockney in 2013.
Survived by her children, Lynn and her husband Rob McLoughlin of Chatham, Bill and his wife Sandy of Guelph, Bev and her husband Ron Lee of Ailsa Craig, Bob and his wife Robin of Chatham and Lori Armstrong of Fergus.
Grandma of Jordan, Kyle, Sean, Tanya, Amanda, Brad, Ryan, Nicole, Scott, Kristy, Adam and Daniel and great grandma of Dominic, Makenna, Ryder, Alexis, and Chayce.
Sister of her twin Joan McDiarmid, Evelyn Paul, and Janet McEwen.
Also predeceased by her parents Harold and Helene McEwen, brother Donald McEwen, sister Marjorie Kingsley, and son-in-law Steve Armstrong.
Margaret was an active member of St. James ? Rosemount United Church.
She retired in 1995 from a lifelong nursing career. She trained as a nurse at Sarnia General Hospital and graduated in 1951. She worked as a supervisor in the Oncology department in Sarnia and later worked at Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, also in Oncology, until retirement.
The family cottage at Rideau Lake was always a huge part of Jack's & Margaret's & their five children's time with all their Ottawa Valley relatives, for horseshoes, fishing, food and family fun!
Cremation. Margaret's family received relatives and friends at St. James - Rosemount United Church, 171 Sherwood Ave., Kitchener, on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 10:00 ? 10:45 am, where her memorial service was held at 11:00 am. The Reverend Chris Fickling officiated. Interment was held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia.
