?b?SYME -?/b?- In Ramsay Township, on Tuesday evening, Sept. 27th, 1949, Jessie J. Lockhart, widow of James G. Syme, in her 92nd year. The funeral will take place from the residence of her son, Mr. Herbert A. Syme, 10th concession of Ramsay, where service will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs James Syme was held Friday afternoon from the residence of her son, Hubert A. Syme, Ramsay Township, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery for interment. The service was conducted by Rev. James Foote, of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Carleton Place and Rev. H.L. Morrison, of Almonte. Mrs Syme died at her home in Appleton on September 27. She was 91 years of age. The former Jessie Jane Lockhart, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Lockhart and his wife, Marion Fumerton, and was born in Ramsay. She was educated there and was married to Mr. Syme at Almonte. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary 17 years ago last May. He died about 17 years ago in January. Mrs Syme attended St. Andrew's Church, Carleton Place, and had been a member of the Women's Missionary Society and the Ladies' Aid. Survivors include two sons, Peter T., of Vancouver, and Hubert A., Ramsay; one daughter, Mrs Lou Persman, St. Claire, Mich: eight grandsons and granddaughters, Orville and Nelson, at home: Dorothy, Mrs. Hallet, Edmonton; Ena, Mrs A. Stark, Ottawa; Gladys, Viking, Alta; Ross and Donald Vancouver; Lorne, Camp Borden; also one brother, Alfred P. Lockhart, Rokeby, Sask. The pall-bearers were Ed. Dowdall, Joseph Symington, John Struthers, James Turner, Hubert Fee and Frank Paul. Many beautiful floral tributes were received.
