  	Lanark Era Wed. November 4th, 1896 In Lanark twp., Tues. Oct. 27th, Alexander McKay, aged 85 years. Born in Donnoch, Sutherlandshire, Scotland, in 181!. He was married a few years before coming to Canada, his wife dying on May 5th, 1896. They had ten children, of whom nine survive, five sons and four daughters. There of 66 grandchildren, and 57 great-grandchildren. Burial in Middleville cemetery.
