  	Friday May 8, 1896 Stone 343 The Almonte Gazette front page ?b?Obit. -Mrs. Gilbert Forgie ?/b?About seven o'clock on Monday morning last Mrs. Gilbert Forgie was stricken with apoplexy and died two hours later without regaining consciousness. She had previously suffered from an attack of the same trouble. Though the deceased had not been in robust health for several years, her many friends and relatives were shocked by the suddenness of her death. Althoguh the summons came suddenly, it did not find her unprepared, for hers was a a truly Christian life. Mrs. Forgie, whose maiden name was Jane Dunfield, she was a native of the township of Goulbourn, and was in her 69th. year of her age. She was a sister of Dr. Dunfield of Petrolia, Ont. Deceased was well-knon in the neighbourhood as one of the kindest and most hospitable of women. The large attendance at her funeral on Wednesday afternoon showed the high regard in which she was held by the whold community.The pall-bearers were Messrs Gavin Hamilton, Andrew Wilson, Wm. Young, Duncan Stewart, Alex Snedden and James Duncan. To the aged husband, four sons and two daughters, to whom she was a devoted wife and an affectionate mother. We tender our sincerest sympathy. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. E. Mitchell, B. A., of St. John's church, of which congregation the deceased wa a consistent member.
