  	Mr. John Fumerton By the death of Mr. John Fumerton, who passed away on Monday morning at the advanced age of eighty-eight years and three months, Kelowna lost an old and respected citizen who until a few months ago was a familiar figure on the streets moving about with a wonderful degree of activity considering his years. Mr. Fumerton was born on a farm in the Township of Ramsay, County of Lanark and in his early youth and early manhood he followed agricultural pursuits, later entering mercantile life and operating a general store business at Fallbrook, Ont. for many years. Migrating to Holland Manitoba he was engaged in trade there for about ten years and upon retiring from active business he came to Kelowna twelve years ago with his son Mr. J.F. Fumerton. He had been confined to his room since Christmas and his decline was gradual and the end painless, being due simply to old age. Member of a remarkably long-lived family, Mr Fumerton is survived by five brothers, two of them resident in Ontario and three in Saskatchewan. His wife predeceased him many years ago. He leaves two sons, Mr. J.F. Fumerton of Kelowna, and Mr. D.J. Fumerton of Penticton, and one daughter, Mrs J.W. Stewart of Ottawa Ont. After a short service at the undertaking parlours of the Kelowna Furniture Company on Wednesday morning conducted by Rev. A.K. McMinn, the body was dispatched for burial at Holland where the late Mrs. Fumerton is interred, Mr. J.F. Fumerton accompanying it. The deceased having been a member of the craft, the committal at Holland will be made with Masonic Honours.
