  	1898, Friday December 9, The Almonte Gazette front page ?b?Incidents Around Town?/b? ? Word was received here this week of the death of Mrs R. Bruce, which took place on Sunday evening at Rochester, N.Y., where she had gone for medical treatment for an internal trouble from which she was suffering. In the early stages of the treatment hopes were entertained of her early recovery, but the tax on her strength was greater then she could bear. About two weeks ago word came that she was growing weaker, and her sister, Miss Millie Lang, with her little daughter, Flossie, went to Rochester, and were with her till death ended her sufferings. The funeral took place on Wednesday at Rochester, Her husband and child survive. Mrs Bruce will be remembered by many for her bright and cheerful nature, and her readiness to give aid and encouragement to those who were in need when it was in her power to do so.
