  	Esther Keyes was the daughter of James Keyes and his wife Hester Garland. She married Rev. James Steele, son of Hugh Steele and his wife Elizabeth Reid, on May 22, 1863 in Bruce County, Ontario. They had four children, two sons, John and James (one of whom, James, died in infancy and is buried in Paisley Cemetery) and two daughters, Elizabeth and Clara. Her husband's obituary indicated that he and Esther were buried in the same cemetery as their son John in Berkeley.
