Service was held at the Kerry Funeral Home, Elgin Street, Almonte, on Wednesday February 21st at 2.30 p.m. Entombment Auld Kirk Cemetery Vault. Burial in the Spring. 1962, Thursday March 1, The Almonte Gazette page 3 Melvin Sterling McEwen There passed away in the Almonte General Hospital on Feb 19th, 1962, Melvin Sterling McEwen, eldest son of Emma Turner and the late Wm McEwen and brother of Wilbert McEwen of Ramsay. He was born 55 years ago on the McEwen farm, 7th line of Ramsay and was educated at S.S. No 6 and the Almonte High School. He spent most of his life as an auto mechanic. The funeral was held from the Kerry Funeral Home, Feb 21st and was largely attended by friends from Pembroke, Bromley, Kinburn, Carleton Place, Ottawa, White Lake, Hamilton, Ancaster and California. Interment was in the Auld Kirk Cemetery.
