The death occurred in Almonte on Thursday March 11th, of Mrs Chas More, at the age of 67 years. Deceased, whose maiden name was Catherine Gunn, was born in Darling Township, a daughter of Mr and Mrs George Gunn. Following her marriage to Mr Chas More, they farmed in Ramsay Township and later retired to live in Almonte. Her husband predeceased her in July, 1942. Left to mourn are four sons Milton and Andrew of Ramsay; Harold and Charles of Ramsay; one daughter Mrs John Corkery of Gananoque. Of her immediate family there are eight brothers and two sisters surviving, namely: Daniel, Almonte, Alex of Arnprior; George of Tatlock; Grant of Ramsay; Bert of Brantford; Ernest of Battleford, Sask., James of Climax, Sask., Stewart of Winchester, Belle, Mrs Wm McDonald of Pakenham and Jeanette, Mrs Wm Rintoul of Tatlock. The funeral will take place from the Comba Funeral Home, Church Street, Saturday, March 13th, at 2.30 p.m. to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. The service will be held at 2 p.m.

The funeral of Mrs Chas More, whose death occurred on March 11th, was held on Saturday afternoon, March 13, from the Comba Funeral Home. The service was conducted by Rev A.J. Fowlie of the Presbyterian Church of which deceased was a member, assisted by Rev W.J Scott of Bethany United Church. Surviving are four sons, Milton, Andrew, Harold and Charles, all of Ramsay Township and one daughter Myrtle, Mrs John Corkery of Gananoque. The pallbearers were her four sons and two brothers, Alex Gunn, Arnprior and Daniel Gunn of Almonte. Interment was made in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Among the beautiful floral tributes were pieces from the Producer Dairy, Almonte, and the W.M.S. of the Presbyterian Church. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr Stewart Gunn, Winchester; Mr and Mrs Howard McBane of Smiths Falls; Mr and Mrs Alex Gunn of Arnprior, Miss Blanche Ring of White Lake and Mr Wm McDonald of Pakenham.

The death of Mr. Milton More of 258 St. George Street, Almonte, occurred at the Almonte General Hospital at 7.30 o'clock on the evening of September 15, 1977, following a lengthy illness. He was 75. Mr. More was born in Ramsay Township on August 31, 1902, a son of the late Charles More and his wife Catherine Gunn. He farmed in Ramsay before his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church. He was married at Almonte on June 26, 1925, to the former Elizabeth Logan, who survives, together with four sons and two daughters, ? Logan of Almonte; Bert, Arnprior; John, Carleton Place; Laurie, Kingston; Doreen (Mrs Russ Saunders), Ottawa, and Ann (Mrs James Levi), Almonte. Also surviving are two brothers, Andrew and Charles, both of Almonte. A sister Myrtle, of Trenton and brother Harold of Almonte, predeceased him. The funeral was held from the Comba & Gamble Funeral Home, Church Street, Almonte, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept 17, with burial at Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev E. Smith of St. John's Church conducted the services, assisted by Rev P. Rumball. The pallbearers were Earl More, Thomas More, Kerry Saunders, Boyne Saunders, Donevan Levi and Mike Parkman.

Milton married Elizabeth "Betty" Logan in 1924. Elizabeth (daughter of John Logan and Agnes McRae) was born on 5 Jul 1904 in Pakenham Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 14 Nov 1985 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 16 Nov 1985 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Andrew Lawrence More, RR 2 Almonte, died Dec 23 in the Almonte General Hospital at the age of 74. The son of the late Charles More and Catherine Gunn, also of Almonte, was born Nov 11, 1906. His life-long occupation was as a farmer. On Aug 11, 1928 Mr More was married to the late Winnifred MacCormack. The wedding took place in Carleton Place. Mr More was a member of the Almonte United Church. He is survived by two daughters, Iris (Mrs L.B. Lindensmith) of Ottawa, and Elsie (Mrs Mervyn Edwards) of Smiths Falls. He is also leaves two sons, Alvin, of Bellevue, Ohio, and Thomas of Almonte, and a brother, Charles, of Almonte. A funeral was held Dec 27 from the Gamble & Comba Funeral Home, Rev John Lougheed conducted the service. Burial took place at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers were Logan More, Bert More, Laurie More, John More, Earl More, and Russ Saunders.

Andrew married Winnifred Helen MacCormack on 11 Aug 1928 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. The death of Mr. Harold Alvin More occurred on Friday, November 30, 1973, at the Almonte General Hospital, in his 65th year. Mr. More, who was a retired Dairy Lab. Technician, resided at 240 Ottawa Street, Almonte. He had been employed with the Almonte Dairy, and also with the former Coleman's Creamery at Carleton Place. Born in Ramsay Township, on March 10, 1909, he was a son of the late Charles More and his wife, Katherine Gunn. He received his education at Ramsay Public Schools and Almonte High School, and later attended the dairy school in Kingston. He was married to the former Emma Jean Smith at the Almonte Presbyterian manse on August 27, 1938. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; his hobby was flowers. Surviving besides his wife, are a son, Earl More of Arnprior; a daughter, Colleen, Mrs. Merrill Metcalfe of Pakenham; three brothers, Milton, Andrew and Charles, of Almonte, and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Neal of Trenton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. The funeral was held from the Kerry Funeral Home, Elgin street, on Sunday, December 2nd, at 2:30 p.m., with burial at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev. Douglas McQuaig of the Presbyterian Church conducted the services. Pallbearers were David Neron, Kingston; Deryle Neron, Camp Borden; Doug and Randy Neal of Belleville, and Thomas and John More of Almonte.

There was sadness in the home of Mr and Mrs Milton More last Tuesday evening when their only child Doris Fountaine, was called away. All medical skill could do was done but of no avail. The funeral took place Thursday at one o'clock to the Eighth Line Cemetery. The sympathy goes out to the bereaved parents from many friends.

Born in a log house on a farm in Almonte, Ontario on September 27, 1925. On February 3, 2019, at 93 years old, Doreen peacefully passed away while surrounded by family. She was predeceased in April, 2017 by her husband of 70 Years, Russell. Doreen's heart was most full when she had family near. She loved, guided, mentored, and cherished her children: Kerry (Linda), Boyne (Marilyn), Suzanne (John), and Lori (Roy). She was a nurturing Oma to Shannon Maker (Mike), Logan Saunders Matte, and Kayla Saunders Sikkema (Ben) and a caring Great-Oma to Charlotte, Amelie, Sienna, August, and Kase. Doreen is survived by her sister Ann Bourgoin, predeceased by her parents Milton and Elizabeth "Betty" More of Almonte and siblings: infant sister Doris, and brothers Logan (Jean), John (Ruth), Laurie and Bertram (Bernice). She was sister-in-law to Arnold (Winnie), the late Albert, Lucille, Joy, Richard, Merwin, Shirley, and Calvin. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews for her fun nature and love of life. For 17 years Doreen worked at the federal government. However, she found her true passion and meaning through years of leadership with children and young adults in various roles in Christian education over many decades and especially at Camp Bitobi and Gracefield Presbyterian Camp. Doreen was a chartered member and elder of St. Timothy's Presbyterian Church and then a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Doreen led a joyful, fulfilling and inspirational life by example and described her life as being truly blessed with great family and many wonderful friends.

Doreen married Russell Grimes "Russ" Saunders in 1946. Russell was born on 28 Dec 1923 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 5 Apr 2017 in Ottawa, Ottawa Municipality, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Almonte lost a life-long resident of town when Laurier Bryon More died December 25, 1997 at the age of 63. Mr. More was born in Almonte Dec. 8, 1934 to parents Milton More and Elizabeth Logan. He was educated in Almonte before becoming a mechanic. Mr. More was also a member of the Almonte Legion. He became ill in November before dying Christmas day. He is survived by daughters Gloria Stewart and Diane Potter of Ottawa, sisters Ann Levi-Bourgoin and Doreen Saunders of Ottawa, and brothers Logan More and John More of Almonte. He was predeceased by brother Bert and infant sister Doris. The funeral service took place at C.R. Gamble Funeral Home and Chapel Dec. 27 at 12 p.m., with Rev. Grant Wilson presiding. Auld Kirk Cemetery is the place of burial. Kerry Saunders, Boyne Saunders, Don Levi, Tom Stewart, Bob Potter and Jack MacDonald acted as pallbearers.
