Peacefully in his sleep at Almonte Country Haven on Monday, January 31, 2005. Stan Morton of Almonte, age 95 years Beloved husband of the late Marjorie E. Robertson. Dearly loved and very proud father of the late Lt. Gen. Robert W. Morton (Retired). Dear brother of Mrs. Ethel Mallon and Mrs. Marion Watchorn. Cherished father-in-law of Patricia Morton (Sutherland). Much loved grandfather of Jennifer (Richard) and Bruce (Lucie). Great-grandfather of Sydney, Jamie Lee and Ashley. Predeceased by 3 brothers Arthur, Reg and Laurie and by one sister Mrs. Lillian Dick. Friends may call at the C.R. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 127 Church Street, Almonte for visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and where a Service complete in the Chapel will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. Spring interment St. Paul's Cemetery, Almonte. Donations in memory of Stan may be made to R. Tait McKenzie Scholarship Fund and would be most appreciated by his family.     MORTON, Lt/Gen, Robert W. (Rtd) (March 23, 1937 ? December 7, 2002) of Stittsville, Ontario
    Unexpectedly from heart complications following successful surgery for prostate cancer on Saturday, December 7th, 2002 at age 65. Robert Wayne Morton loving husband of Patricia for 43 years. Cherished father of Bruce (Lucie) and Jennie (Richard), Adored Grandpa of Sydney, Jamie Leigh and Ashley. Dear son of Stan Morton, Almonte and the late Marjorie Robertson. Proud member of the Canadian Air Force for 37 years. He had a great love and zest for life. He was a gentleman's gentleman and will live in our hearts forever. Friends many call at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte for visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thence to St Paul's Anglican Church, Almonte for Funeral Service on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Rev Craig Bowers officiating. Cremation to follow. Bob's cremated remains will be scattered at Clayton Lake at a later date.

    Lieutenant General Robert Wayne Morton, a Royal Canadian Air Force officer, served as deputy commander of NORAD from 1989 to 1992; NORAD is the 'North American Aerospace Defense Command' (previously known as the 'North American Air Defense Command') which conducts aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning in the defense of North America. It is a United States/Canada bi-national organization with its headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA.

    *Husband of Patricia; father of Bruce (Lucie) and Jennie (Richard); grandfather of three grandchildren; son of Stan Morton of Almonte, Ontario, and the late Marjorie (n?e Robertson) Morton.

    *Bob was a proud member of the Canadian Air Force for 37 years.

    *A Funeral Service was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Almonte on Thursday, 12 Dec 2002, Rev. Craig Bowers officiating; cremation followed.

    *Bob's cremated remains were later scattered at Clayton Lake.
