    Notes:

    Six children were born. Two of these died of typhoid fever during the 6 weeks ocean crossing to Canada in 1846. One note says one was buried at sea and the other at Quebec.

    Another child James and the mother died also (believed to have been after arrival in Ramsay twp). Margaret, Robert & Eliza survived.

    The Winnipeg Tribune - December 25, 1925 - Dominion City Pioneer Dead - Robert O. Scott Came West From Ontario in 1876

    (Special to The Tribune) Dominion City, Man., Dec. 25 - The funeral was held here Wednesday of Robert O. Scott, pioneer of Dominion City, who came here in 1876. Service was conducted at 2 o'clock at his daughter's home by Rev. Mr. Spiers and Rev. Mr. Robinson, and burial took place in Dominion City Cemetery.

    The pallbearers were, George allen, D.H. McFadden, Emerson; J.D. Baskerville, A. Waddell, V. Scholte and R. Barber, Dominion City.

    Mr. Scott is survived by two sons, William, Boissevain, and Cuthbert, Dominion City, and five daughters, Mrs. Simpson, Dominion City; Mrs. Wellband, Strasbourg, Sask.; Mrs. Leonard, Saskatoon and Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Brisley, Winnipeg. Death occurred Monday at the residence of Mrs. Simpson, his daughter.

    Born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1841, Mr. Scott came to Canada when six years of age. He settled with his parents at Almonte, Ont. Here he spent his boyhood years, coming to Manitoba at the age of 35.

    After living alone for a year on his farm at Dominion City, he returned east for his wife and family. Mrs. Scott was formerly Miss Lydia Acres, of Ottawa, and was well known in Manitoba. Upon the completion of the railway between Emerson and Winnipeg in 1879, Mrs. Scott drove in the last spike.

    Upon his return to Manitoba with his family in 1877, Mr. Scott brought them first by boat to Duluth and then down the Red River to Emerson.

    In Dominion City, Mr. Scott devoted much of his time to the welfare of the community. He served for 21 years on the council. In politics he was a strong Conservative. He was affiliated with the Orange lodge. A cousin was the late Lieut. Col. Scott, of Winnipeg.

    Robert O. Scott, Dominion City died at the age of 84, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T.J. Simpson, Monday, December 21. Mr. Scott came to Canada at the age of six, from Belfast, Ireland and settled in Almonte, Ont. where he spent his boyhood days. In 1876 he came to Manitoba and took up a homestead in the Dominion City district. The following year he returned east for his wife, nee Lydia Acres, of Ottawa, and their four small children, travelling by boat by way of Duluth and Minneapolis, finally down to Red River to Emerson and settled on their homestead, where they faced all the hardships of pioneer life. Mr. Scott devoted much of his time in the interest of his adopted town, being a councillor for 21 years. He was a strong supporter of the Conservative party and a loyal Orangeman. In his later years he derived much pleasure from his gardening, being a great lover of flowers.
    His wife, who preceded him by a few years, helped drive the last spike in the C.P.R. line from Winnipeg to Emerson.
    Mr. Scott was a cousin of the late Lieut-Col Scott, of Winnipeg, and one of Dominion City's most respected and widely known citizens.
    The funeral took place Wednesday at 2 o'clock from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Simpson, to the Dominion City Cemetery. the service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Spiers* assisted by the late Rev. Mr. Robinson.
    The pallbearers were Geo. Allen and W. H. McFadden, of Emerson, W.J. Baskerville. A. Waddell, V. Scholte, and R. Barber, of Dominion City.
    The deceased is survived by two sons, William Acres of Boissevain, Cuthbert, Dominion City, and five daughters, Mrs. Simpson, Dominion City, Mrs. Wellband, Strasburg, Sask. Mrs. Leonard, Saskatoon, Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Brisley, Winnipeg.

    Mr. Letang was a prosperous and popular man of his neighborhood, about thirty five years of age and married. Some years ago he was a resident of this country and owned a farm on Tongue River near Paul Johnson's on the road to Bathgate.

    Pioneer resident Of Dominion City Dies At Age 84-
    Mrs. Ida Jane Simpson, 84, pioneer resident of Dominion City, Man. who died Saturday in Morris, Man. was buried Monday in Dominion City Cemetery following funeral service in Dominion City United Church, Mark Parsons officiated.
    Mrs. Simpson was born in Almonte, Ont. and came to Dominion City district in 1878 with her parents, via the Great lakes, the United States and the Red River steamer Lord Selkirk. Then settled near Roseau Crossing which later became Dominion City, a year before the railroad. Her mother the late Mrs. Robert Scott helped drive the last spike in the first rail line in the Canadian West.
    She was the first woman automobile driver in the district and for twenty years "drove the mail" from Dominion City to Greenridge and Woodmore. She was an active member of the United Church Ladies Aid and Women's Institute, Honorary President of the Canadian Women's Auxiliary and Honorary President and life member of the Ladies Curling Club.
    Her husband Willet Irvin died in 1917. A son, Robert, died in England during the First World War and another son Willett died in 1917.
    Surviving are two sons, Maurice and Earle, three daughters, Mrs. C.D. Gaynor, Mrs. W Lowe and Mrs. H. Anderson; one brother Will and three sisters, Laura, Lyla and Myrtle.

She is survived by 31 special nieces and nephews and their families and one aunt Edith Olmstead. Friends and family are invited to gather at the graveside in Crawford Cemetery, McDonalds Corners on Friday, September 12th, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. for a service followed by a reception in the Snow Road Community Hall.     Susan passed away suddenly, in hospital, Winchester, on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Susan Frances Reynolds, of Finch, at the age of 59. Susan was the cherished wife and soul mate of Paul Reynolds, for over 41 years. Mom will be sadly missed by her children: Jason (Heather) Reynolds, and Mary (Tony) Casselman, all of Finch. Wonderful and adored Nanny to, Cody, Cole, Caden and Khaleesi. Susan was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Oscar Conlon, and Margaret Morrow, and by her siblings, Robert Conlon and Mary Jane Conlon. Loving sister to, Henry Conlon, of Toronto, John Conlon, and Dawn Cook, all of Snow Road, Paul (Lise), of Kapuskasing, and Tharen (late Wilfred) Sproule, of Perth. To honour Susan's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at the Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, in Susan's memory, would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at Crawford Cemetery, McDonalds Corners, in the spring of 2015.     It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert James Chapman on Friday, November 11, 2016 in Jasper, Alberta. Husband of the late Betty Anne and father of James Chapman, Kate (and Al Curnow), and Margot (and Hugh Macdonnell) and grandfather of Madeline and Riley Curnow, and Betsy, James, Charlie and Teddy Macdonnell. Loving brother of Margot Moore, and son of the late Dorothy and Charles Chapman of Brandon, Manitoba.

    Bob's life had many chapters. Born in Edmonton, Alberta he was raised in Brandon, Manitoba where he was an avid golfer and a gifted math student. He graduated in 1953 from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and then moved to Toronto where he earned his MBA from the University of Toronto in the evenings while he worked full time as an Engineer. He spent his entire professional career in the investment industry with important stints at Merrill Lynch, DuPont Glore Forgan, and Royal LePage before branching out on his own.

    In 1959, Bob married Betty Anne (n?e Begg) and went on to raise his family in Toronto. He loved skiing and golf: two passions that he passed on to his children. He was a founding member of the Georgian Peaks Ski Club and he continued to hit the slopes well into his 80s. An accomplished golfer, he won several Junior Titles as a youth and continued his love for the game as a member of the Lambton Golf, the Toronto Golf and the Mid Ocean clubs. He was also a dedicated and enthusiastic marathon runner completing the Toronto, New York City and Bermuda marathons numerous times and the Nanisivik Midnight Sun Ultra Marathon twice.

    A true westerner at heart, in 2011 Bob moved back west to Jasper, Alberta where he built a new community. He was happy to be back west with his much loved sister Margot, his niece, Nancy Addison and her family. He had good health and happiness until the end of his life.

    Bob's joy of life, sense of humour and active lifestyle will be missed by many family and friends. Special thanks to his "Jasper Family" and his friends at Alpine Summit and "around town" for welcoming and filling his final years with laughter, music and well deserved peace.

    A memorial service will be held at St. Mary and St. George Anglican Church on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. for his Jasper family and friends. A private family service will be held in Toronto at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Foothills Memorial Chapel in Edson. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alpine Lodge Activity Fund c/o the Alpine Summit Seniors Lodge, Box 320, Jasper, Alberta, T0E 1E0.

    Died:
    Jason passed away quite unexpectedly, after heart surgery, at the Ottawa Heart Institute, in Ottawa, on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015, at the age of 41. Jason was predeceased earlier this year by his precious Mom, Sue. Jason Paul Reynolds, of Finch, much loved and sadly missed by his children, Cole, Caden, and Khaleesi. Loving son to Paul Reynolds, and special brother to Mary (Tony) Casselman, of Finch. Jason's loss is also felt deeply by Heather Larabee, and Krystal Perrin. Jason will be sadly missed by his grandmother, Doris (late George) Brash, of Bolingbroke, and Marg (late William) Reynolds, of Sharbot Lake. Jason was a much respected and loved Uncle to Cody, and he will be missed by many uncles, aunts, and close family members, especially the Conlon family. To honour Jason's wishes, cremation has taken place with a future interment of his ashes to be held at Crawford Cemetery, McDonald's Corners. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jason's memory to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated. Jason's funeral arrangements are entrusted to the O'Dacre Family Funeral Home, Perth

    Following a lengthy and courageous journey through cancer, our beloved James passed away quite unexpectedly at his farm on Friday, April 19, 2019. He was 58. Dear son of Jim (Cindy FitzPatrick) and the late Cecile (nee Bond) Colton. Cherished and much loved Dad of Sherry Lamorie (Jason). Proud "Grandpa" of Kayla Munro. Dear brother of
    Debbie Beirnes (Stuart), Peter (Lucy), Paula Greer (John), Kevin (Sue), Scott (Debbie) and Sean. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. James' final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will take place on Wednesday evening, April 24, 2019 from 6 to 7:40 p.m. A Tribute to James will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel at 8 o'clock. Those wishing to do so may contribute to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation
