    Mrs Milton Lindsay
    Final tribute to the memory of Ethel May Scott, wife of Milton Lindsay, was paid when scores of friends from this community and outside points attended her funeral which was held from the family home on the 9th line of Pakenham, on Sunday afternoon, Jan 19, Rev T. McCord of Blakeney, conducted the services. She was born at Cedar Hill, 61 years ago, a daughter of the late Richard Scott and his wife Caroline McMunn. Some thirty-five years ago she married Milton Lindsay, who survives. Mrs Lindsay's death occurred Friday, Jan 17th, following a brief illness. Of a bright and cheerful disposition she had a large circle of friends who will mourn her passing. Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter (Edith) Mrs Robert Toshack of Blakeney; one son Wilfred on the homestead; one brother W.A. Scott of Pakenham; one sister (Annie) Mrs John Lindsay of Almonte. Among he numerous floral offerings were sprays from Blakeney Ladies' Aid, Blakeney Y.P.S., Cedar Hill W.I. and Almonte U.F.W.O. The pallbearers were Messrs Edward Rose, James Connery, John McGill, Wm Wood, E.S. Graham and Alex Snedden. Mr and Mrs Wm Smellie of Toronto, Mr Don Scott of Trenton, attended, also friends from Ottawa, Perth, Overbrook, Fitzroy Harbour and surrounding towns.

    Notes:

    On his marriage license, William Allan Scott's occupation is given as farmer in Pakenham Tp. He married teacher Laura Essie Wilson of Fitzroy Tp. 26 Aug. 1920. When his sons enlisted in the RCAF, he was a mechanic with a garage in Pakenham, Ontario. Both his sons were killed in action: Donald Stewart Scott died at sea after the Canso aircraft he was flying in over northern seas near the Faroe Islands was shot down by a U-boat and the 8-man crew spent over 20 hours in one 4-man inflatable raft before being rescued. Donald died of cold and exhaustion and his body was consigned to the sea by the surviving members. His name is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial in Surrey, England. Younger son Kenneth was a Leading Aircraftsman on a Dakota transport dropping supplies to the British Army in Burma. The aircraft was hit by enemy fire and before it crashed, at about a height of 100 ft., Kenneth was seen to jump and perished in the jungle. His final burial place is in Taukkyan War Cemetery, Myanmar (Burma).

    ANNIE WALKER LINDSAY
    The death of Annie Walker Lindsay occurred at her home, 204 Parkview Blvd., Almonte, Ont., suddenly on Friday, Nov. 12. 1965. Mrs. Lindsay was born at Cedar Hill, May 10, 1889, daughter of the late Richard Scott and his wife Caroline McMunn. Annie Walker Scott was married to John Lindsay at Cedar Hill on Oct. 8. 1912. Her husband survives and one daughter, Margaret, (Mrs. Archie Lockhart) of Almonte, and one grandchild, Donald. Also surviving is one brother, W. A. Scott of Pakenham. She was predeceased by one sister, Mrs. Milton Lindsay of Pakenham Township. Mrs. Lindsay was a member of the Almonte United Church. She was keenly interested in community and church work. She was a life member of W.M.S. of Almonte United Church, North Lanark Agricultural Society and Ramsay Women's Institute, of which she has been treasurer for a number of years. The large funeral from the Kerry Funeral Home was held on Monday afternoon, Nov. 15, and was a fitting tribute to this lady. Rev. Skoutajan officiated. The pallbearers were; Harold Robertson, J. L. Erskine, Clare Syme, Robert Cochran, Jack Toshack and Ronald Lindsay. Interment was it the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.

    EDITH MARION TOSHACK
    The death of Edith Marion Toshack, formerly of R.R.3, Almonte, occurred suddenly at Almonte General Hospital on Tuesday, August 29th, 1978, as the result of a heart attack. She was 69 years of age. Born in Pakenham Township on January 3rd, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Milton Alexander Lindsay and his wife, the late Ethel Mae Scott. Educated in Pakenham, she later married Robert Ewen Toshack in Pakenham Township on September 29, 1934. The couple farmed in the Pakenham area and Mrs. Toshack became involved in the Ramsay Women's Institute and was a member of St. Andrew's United Church in Pakenham. Surviving besides her husband are four sons: Jack and Art of Almonte; Keith, Prescott; and Allen of Black's Corners. She is also survived by one brother, Wilfred Lindsay of R. R. 1, Pakenham. Funeral services for Mrs. Toshack were held at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Almonte, on Friday, September 1st at 2 p.m. Rev. Cecil Dodds conducted the service. Interment was in Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronald Lindsay, Allan Timmins, Donald Lockhart, Russell Camelon, Charles Tate and Gordon Donaldson
