    Murray passed away January 17th peacefully at home with his loving wife of 32 years, Dorothy, by his side. Born in Dominion City, Manitoba on March 29th, 1921, his family moved to the Lower Mainland when he was a small boy. He served in the Canadian Navy during WWII as a communications officer. After the war Murray worked at Standard Furniture in Victoria. His later business ventures included Greggs Furniture Factory and Greggs Marine Interiors.
    He is loved and remembered by his sons Bob (Celia), Jim (Carol Ann), daughter Sharon, and grandchildren Lauren, Kristen, Emily, and Robson plus his stepchildren Rob (Margo), Leslie (Merek), Chris and step-granddaughter Alaina. Predeceased by his first wife Ella and sisters Muriel and Connie, he is survived by his younger brother Joe (Helen) and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Murray revelled in life, loved his family wholeheartedly, valued his many friends, loved to fish with his sons, and to entertain. Flowers are gratefully declined and donations may be made in Murray's name to Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation. A special memorial celebration of Murray's life will be held at the Chief & PO's Mess, 1575 Lyall Street, (off Esquimau Road at Dockyard), on February 6, 2009, 1:30 - 4:30PM. All are welcome. "
