    Death of James McGill
    In the death of James McGill which occurred in the A. and D. Hospital, Arnprior, on Thursday, Dec 7th, the community lost a highly esteemed and well known resident after a few weeks' illness. The late Mr McGill was born in Pakenham Township, July 1871, son of the late John McGill and Catherine McKay, where he spent his entire life. Mr McGill was married 53 years ago to Mary Sadler who survives with one daughter, (Mabel), Mrs Robert Hogan of Ottawa; two sons, Borden at home and Kenneth, R.C.N., Halifax; two sisters, Jessie, Mrs Alex Barker of Almonte and Lucy, Mrs Stan Sanderson of Ottawa; two brothers, John and Thomas, of Pakenham. He was a life long member of Blakeney United Church where he took an active part in all organizations. He will be missed by a large circle of friends. He was a wonderful neighbour, a friend of the sick and needy, had a joke for both young and old. The large funeral from his home on Saturday, Dec 9, at 2 p.m., was a fitting tribute to an esteemed citizen. Rev H.L. Morrison of Almonte and Rev Thos McCord of Carleton Place officiated at the service. Pallbearers were five nephews, John and Hubert McGill, Nelson and Norman Sadler, Herbert Timmins and Jas Needham. Numerous floral tributes were received. Interment was made in the Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte

    ? Mr and Mrs James McGill, of Blakeney, are mourning the death of their little daughter, Mary Alma, who died on Friday last, on the threshold of her fifth year. The funeral took place on Sunday to the eighth line cemetery.

    Peacefully on Saturday September 15, at Almonte Country Haven, Almonte, Ontario James Borden McGill Of Almonte and formerly of R.R. #4 Pakenham (1911 - 2001) Husband of D. Ruth Camelon. Dear father of Murray (Dianne) McGill. Gorrie, Ontario. Grandfather to Perry. Survived by his brother Kenneth McGill, Ottawa. Predeceased by one sister, Mabel Hogan. The Funeral At Borden's request there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Cremation. Interment of Borden's ashes will take place in the family plot at Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Kerry Funeral Homes and Chapels Inc., 154 Elgin Street, Almonte.
