    STEWART, Jeanette May - of Almonte, in her 94th year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late William J. Stewart. Dear daughter of the late Alex and Jean Virgin. Dearly loved and respected mother of Catharine (Lloyd) Allinotte of Charleston Lake, Wilma Haliburton (Paul) and Donald (Ruth) Stewart both of Almonte. Predeceased by her daughter, Betty Donaldson, her sister, Mrs. Edith Hamilton and brother, Nathan Virgin. Also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Will never be forgotten by her many nieces, nephews and son-in-law Gerald Donaldson. Family and friends may call at the C. R. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL INC. 127 Church Street, Almonte, ON., 613-256-3313 on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.     Edith Agnes Hamilton passed away Thursday, January 8, 2004 at Almonte County Haven. She was 78. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Clayton, Ontario on November 25,1925. She was the youngest child of the late Jean Rintoul, and was educated at Galbraith. She later went to work for the Findlay family of Carleton Place. On September 24, 1949, she married Harry Francis (Frank) Hamilton and the couple resided on the Hamilton homestead in Huntley Township, and carried on a fanning business. Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her children Allan (Barbara), Heather, Sandy (Patricia) and Gwen (Kevin O'Connell), all of the Almonte area. She was predeceased by two children, Ivan and Pamela. She is also survived by her sister Jeanette (the late Wm. J. Stewart) of Almonte and her brother Nathan (Laura) of Clayton. Mrs. Hamilton was a loving grandmother to Clayton, Neil and Peter Hamilton, Jennifer (Kevin Cooney), Jamie (Kim) and Jonathan Clement, Allison, Angela and Rebecca Hamilton, and Tim, Jason and Ryan O'Connell. She was great "Granny Edie" to Kelsey, Harrison and Samantha Cooney, and Owen and Isabelle Clement. The Appleton Women's Institute, of which Mm. Hamilton was a lifetime member, conducted a Memorial Service on Jan. 11. The funeral was conducted at Kerry Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Barry Goodwin on Monday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m A eulogy, read by Jennifer Cooney, outlined her grandmother's life fulfillments. Spring interment will be at Auld Kirk Cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Hamilton's 12 grandchildren.

    J. L. Virgin Insurance
    Well respected businessman, with a very strong commitment to his community. Jack was especially proud of his time as President of Western General Mutual Insurance. He was a life member of Mississippi Masonic Lodge 157 and Member of Tunis Shrine. Jack's strong faith in God was especially evident in the love he had for his family. He was proud of all of them from the oldest to the youngest. Jack passed just as he would have wanted, peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at the Almonte General Hospital on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.Jack Virgin of Almonte, age 91 years.

    (Medical):Tragedy stuck at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamilton, Almonte, RR 4 on Tuesday morning at 9.15 when their youngest child, Ivan Charles was killed beneath the wheels of a truck. The little boy who was in his third year was standing at a gate which his father had opened but on the opposite side of the road and as is the way of small children, darted into the path of the truck so quickly that no one saw him until it was too late. The truck was driven by Keith Drynan, an employee of Mr. Hamilton. The child was rushed to the Almonte General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. R. K. Bach. Dr. J. A. McEwen of Carleton Place, County Coroner was called and said there would be no inquest.

    IVAN CHARLES HAMILTON
    The community was deeply shocked on Tuesday morning, November 13th to hear of the accidental death of Ivan Charles Hamilton, youngest son of Frank Hamilton and his wife Edith Virgin. He was born on the 25th day of April, 1960. Besides his sorrowing parents he is survived by two brothers, and two sisters, Allan, Heather, Sandy and Gwen, also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Virgin of Clayton and Mr. Harry Hamilton of Appleton. The funeral which was very largely attended was held on Thursday afternoon from the Kerry Funeral Home, Almonte and conducted by Rev. Francis Gerard with interment at the Auld Kirk Cemetery. The pallbearers were three cousins, Bobbie Stewart, Arnold and Stuart Virgin and a close friend, Brian Drynan. Many beautiful floral tributes and expressions of sympathy were received by the grief stricken family.

    PAMELA HAMILTON
    Great shock and sorrow was experienced on Monday, November 19, 1973 when news was received of the sudden death of Pamela May Hamilton at Almonte General Hospital youngest daughter of Frank Hamilton and his wife Edith Virgin of Huntley Township. Pamela, who was born February 28, 1963 is survived by her parents and Allan, R.R. 4, Almonte, Heather (Mrs. Robert Clement), Almonte and Sandy and Gwen at home. She was predeceased by a brother Ivan and was granddaughter of Mr. Harry Hamilton, Carleton Place and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Virgin, Clayton. Pam was a popular pupil at Huntley Centennial School and was in attendance in grade six until the beginning of her short illness. The body rested at the Kerry Funeral Home Almonte where service was held on Wednesday, November 21 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Robert McCrea of the United Church, where Pam had been a faithful Sunday School member. The pallbearers were six uncles, Bill Stewart, Ivan Hamilton, Alex Hamilton, Albert Hamilton, Robert McKenzie and Nathan Virgin. Flower bearers were Arnold Virgin, Alfred Hamilton, Robbie McKenzie, Bruce Stewart, Donald Stewart and Kevin O'Connell. Pam's funeral was attended by a great number of friends. Burial was in the family plot at the Auld Kirk Cemetery.
