From The Drumheller Mail, 3 Feb 1938, pg 3, in the "MUNSON" column:
    --
    Death of Mr. A.M. Richardson

This community was greatly shocked to learn of the death of A.M. Richardson in Edmonton last Thursday. Mr. Richardson, accompanied by Mrs. Richardson, had left Munson on the previous Friday, in his usual good spirits, and with no apparent apprehension as to the outcome of a serious cranial operation which he might have to submit to.

Mr. Richardson will be greatly missed in every phase of community activity; he was an ardent church worker, having been a member of the choir for a number of years, and also was teacher of the intermediate boys' class in the Sunday School, and took a great interest in the social and sport life of the young people, and every project for the betterment of the village, while the promotion of the welfare of its citizens had his generous support. The entire district mourns the loss of this good man and deepest sympathy is offered the bereaved family.

Funeral services were held in Munson United church on Monday afternoon, with Rev. F. Forster officiating, assisted by Rev. H.S. McDonald of Calgary.

W.F. Lambert, Andrew Gibb, W.R. Sharpe, John Bowey, Gordon Adam and O.G. Sibbald were pall-bearers. Interment was made on Tuesday in a Calgary cemetery.

Kenneth and Richard Lister, of Strome; Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Dewsbury, Michichi; Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Stowell, of Erskine; rs. C.F. Rannie, Mrs. H.S. McDonald and Mrs. J.V. Howey, of Calgary, were among the out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral of Mr. Richardson on Monday.

From The Drumheller Mail, 3 Feb 1938, pg 5:

    MR. A. M. RICHARDSON

There passed away at the University Hospital at Edmonton on January 27, one of the most highly respected and popular residents of the Munson district, in the person of Arthur Melville Richardson. He was born at Apto, Ontario, on August 12, 1893, being in his forty-fifth year. He was the son of the late W.C. Richardson, latterly of Barrie, Ont. He moved with his family to Barrie in early life and attended the Collegiate in that town. For a time he was employed by Hambly Hardware Company. Mr. Richardson came to the West in 1910, filing a homestead in the Rowley district, where he continued to farm until 1925. He then joined the staff of the United Grain Growers' Ltd., and was stationed at Stavely, Queenstown and Richdale, coming to Munson in 1925, where he resided until his death.

On February 1, 1915, he married Lillian Mary Russell, who with her little daughter Peggy, is left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. He also leaves on sister, Mrs. W.F. Richardson, of Rowley.

Mr. Richardson was a valued and active member of the Munson United Church, being a member of the choir and a teacher in the Sunday School. During the time he was at Munson he took a very active part in the community life of the district and his talents as a singer were always in demand, and always given cheerfully.

In a business way he was very highly regarded by his employers and had the confidence of those with whom he came in contact.

In addition to his sorrowing relatives he leaves behind a large number who regarded him as a kind neighbor and sympathetic friend, and to the Munson district, a public spirited citizen whose passing will be deeply regretted.

The funeral was conducted at the Munson United Church on Monday, the service being in charge of the Rev. Fred Forster, who was assisted by the Rev. H.S. McDonald, of Calgary, a close friend and former pastor. Mrs. K.M. Sturgeon and Mr. W.C. Cox sang very impressively, "A City Four-Square."

    Numerous floral tributes testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held: {long list of names snipped}

The pall-bearers were: Messrs. G.C. Adam, W.R. Sharpe, Andrew Gibb, O.G. Sibbald, J. Bowle and W.F. Lambert. Interment was made in the Burnsland cemetery at Calgary.

Funeral arrangements at Munson were in the hands of Winter Bros.' Funeral Chapel, of Drumheller.

From The Drumheller Mail, 10 Feb 1938, pg 4, in the "ROWLEY" column:

Mr. A.M. Richardson, a former Rowley resident, and brother of Mrs. W.F. Richardson, passed away in Edmonton after a few days' illness. Mrs. Richardson, and son Lorne, and Keith Thomson, who were en route to Edmonton, were too late to see Mr. Richardson before he passed on. Mr. W.F. Richardson went to Edmonton with Mr. and Mrs. A.M Richardson. Everything was done to prolong life, with no success.
