- Peacefully at North Bay General Hospital on Saturday, October 17, 2009 in her 84th year. Violet (Kidd), most recently of Empire Living Centre, and originally of Carr, was a long- time resident of Powassan. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Eldon Ross Brooks (1927-2003). Vi was the loving mother of Faye Eddy (Ross) of Victoria, BC, Fern Wilson (Darrel) of South River, Kevin Brooks (Leslie) of Grand Prairie, AB, Nicolette "Niki" Lucas of Grand Prairie, AB, and Trevor Brooks (Karla) of Calgary, AB. She was the proud grandmother of Meaghan, Maren, Gabe, Chase, Kyle, Leanne, Autumn, and Dustin. Vi was the dear sister of Joyce Schmidt of Caledon and Gwen Kidd of Swastika and predeceased by her brother Denzil Kidd and sister Hilda Brooks. As Mom wanted the arrangements are immediate cremation and private graveside service followed by interment of ashes at Powassan Union Cemetery
