    Died:
    Delores Anderson
    January 20, 1923 - December 4, 2012

Delores was born Delores Beatrice Slama on Jan. 20, 1923 in rural Lincoln County, Minn. She was the first born of eight children of David Slama and Bertha (Olson) Slama.

She met and married Wilbur Shippy in 1945 and they gave birth to two
sons, Roger and Ronald Shippy. Wilbur died of polio in 1952.

Delores then married Grant Anderson, also of Lincoln County, in 1955, and gave birth to two sons, Douglas and Bradley Anderson. They moved to southern California in 1957 and to Arizona in 1978.

Besides being a housewife and mother, Mrs. Anderson worked in several vocations in California and Arizona, including Hughes Aircraft, Motorola and Tempe School District. She retired in 1988 and she and Grant moved to Payson. Grant passed away in Payson in 2003. She moved to Colorado in 2004.

Her hobbies and talents included teaching china painting, cooking and catering, entertaining friends, camping, Cub Scout leader, sewing, canning, baking, and playing Whist and other card games. She was very active within each church they attended.

She passed away peacefully on Dec. 4, 2012 at the Sierra Vista Health Care Center, Loveland, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wilbur and Grant; parents; two sisters, Bernice (Slama) Stamp and Audrey (Slama) Nord; daughter-in-law, Karen Anderson; and her oldest grandson, Jeremy Shippy.

She is survived by three brothers, David Slama of Phoenix, Durvin (LaVonne) Slama of Terrebone, Ore. and Marvin Slama of Alexandra, Minn.; two sisters, Sylvia (Chuck) Hein of Geneseo, Ill. and Lorraine Gustafson of Buffalo, Minn.; sons, Roger (Bonita), Ron (Jill), Doug and Brad (Tammy); eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Anderson was a kind and gentle soul, a blessed friend to many people, and a joy to all who knew her. She quietly and gently conveyed her tremendous faith in our Eternal Father and passed her hope and love on to the family. She now dances on streets of gold with all who passed before her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Jan. 26 at Rocky Mountain Church in Estes Park, Colo. Burial will be in Minnesota in late June 2013.

Memorial contributions may be made to Youth for Christ Camp, which will be used for their building project in Slovania. Checks may be sent to Allnutt Funeral Service, 1302 Graves Avenue Estes Park, CO 80517.

"See you later Mom, you are truly loved," writes her family.

Delores married Wilbur Edwin Shippy in 1945.
