HOUSTON RUTH NORMA
(Life member of the Almonte General Hospital Auxiliary and the Almonte Curling Club)
Following a brief illness, peacefully in hospital at Ottawa surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, January 4, 2009. Ruth Barr of Almonte, age 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Gordon H. Houston and dearly loved mother of Norma (Danny) Quinn, Robert (Jennifer) and Don. Sister of Lulu Craig, Dan (Peggy) & Glenn (Gloria). Predeceased by her sister; Dorothy Wallace & brothers; Leonard, Graydon, Ronald, Harris, Craig, Jack, Dewey, Peter & Donnie. Also survived by 3 grandchildren; Krista (Steven), Dan (Michelle) & Tim and 2 great grandchildren; Jack & Holly & their mother Jennifer Holly. Friends may call at the C. R. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 127 Church Street, Almonte For visiting on Wednesday, January 7 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and where a complete Service including committal will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 2 pm, Rev. Jeff de Jonge officiating. Spring interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.

Ruth married Gordon Hazen Houston in 1946. Gordon (son of Harold Henry "Harry" Houston and Jennie May Illingworth) was born in 1921 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 26 Nov 1996 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
