    George's wife, Dorlis, told family members that George was adopted, therefore, we urge researchers to be cautious. We have not verified or researched this statement.

    George's obituary was published in the Tuesday, March 4, 1975 issue of the Kansas City Star, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri:

    "George W. Lashbrook

    George W. Lashbrook, 54, of 900 Ute, Independence, died Sunday at Research Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident. Mr. Lashbrook was a hoisting engineer. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Independence. He was a committee-man for Boy Scout Troop No. 221. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dorlis Lashbrook, and a son, Pete Lashbrook, both of the home; a sister, Mrs. Anna E. Holt, 4031 E. 68th Terrace, and six grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Park Lawn Chapel; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the chapel, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association."

    George W. "Pete" Lashbrook, 40, Odessa, Texas, formerly of Kansas City, died Saturday at a hospital in Odessa. He was born in Kansas City and had lived in Odessa five years. Mr. Lashbrook was a iron worker. He was a Catholic. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Rose Lee Lashbrook of the home; three sons, a daughter; and his mother, Mrs. Dorlis M. Lashbrook, Independence. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Park Law Chapel; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the chapel, where friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today."
