    The death of Mrs Harriett (Hattie) Rodger occurred at the Drynan Nursing Home, Almonte, on Tuesday December 5th, in her 82nd year. She had been a resident of the nursing home for ten years. Previously Mrs Rodger resided on Country street. Mrs Rodger was born at Hall's Mills on October 5th, 1886, a daughter of Thomas McKay and Annie Rintoul. She was married in March, 1908, at Middleville, to the late James M. Rodger. She was a member of Almonte Presbyterian Church. Surviving are one son, Roy, and a daughter, Annie, Mrs David Andrews, both of Almonte; two brothers, Welland and Charles McKay, and two sisters, Mrs John R. Reid and Mrs William Mealy of Brandon, Manitoba. The funeral was held from the Comba Funeral Home, Church street, at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 8th, with burial at Auld Kirk Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev William Baird of Almonte Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Lloyd Watson, Lester Jamieson, James Rodger, Wilbert McKay, Garnet Rodger and Robert Andrews.

    Harriet married James Miller "Jim" Rodger in 1908. James (son of James H. Rodger and Ellen Miller) was born on 21 May 1886 in Middleville, Lanark Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 27 Feb 1955 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.     In hospital at Almonte on Thursday, January 27, 2000. Roy Rodger of Almonte, age 91 years. Beloved husband for 57 years of Gladys Seabrooke. Much loved dad of Eileen McNeely of Almonte, Phyllis Haskins (Randy) of Smiths Falls, Ken (Fran) and Ernie both of Almonte. Predeceased by his son Garnet, brother Mac and 2 sisters Ella and Annie. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. Friends called at the C.R. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 127 Church Street, Almonte for visiting on Friday. A complete Service including committal was held in the Chapel on Saturday. Rev. Jim Ferrier officiated. Spring interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.

    Annie Andrews died March 3 in the Almonte General Hospital following a six week illness. She was 82. She was born Annie Rodger in Galbraith Jan 29, 1910 daughter to the late James Rodger and the late Harriet McKay, both of Galbraith. She married the late David Andrews Nov 5, 1930 in Almonte. Mrs Andrews lived in this area for 65 years. She is survived by sons Raymond of Kingston and Don of Oshawa. She is also survived by their wives Shirley and Eileen, and grandchildren Cindy, Patti and Stanley of Kingston and Robbie of Oshawa, and great-grandchildren Lance, Shawntell and Jessica also of Kingston. She was predeceased by sister Ella Andrews and brother Thomas (Mac) Rodger. The funeral was led by Rev Bob Hill at the C.R. Gamble Funeral Home chapel March 5 at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at the Auld Kirk cemetery.

    Annie married David Wesley Andrews in 1930. David (son of Joseph John Andrews) was born on 23 Oct 1904 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died on 10 Jun 1988 in Almonte, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.     ?/b?The death occurred at Perth on Monday, April 28th of Thomas Mac Rodger aged 36 years. He was a son of the late James M. and Mrs Rodger. He is survived by his mother, his wife the former Roberta Dowdall of Carleton Place and two children, Marjorie and Beverley. There are also a brother and two sisters residing in Almonte, Roy, Annie (Mrs Dave Andrews) and Ella (Mrs Wm Andrews.) His last place of employment was the Hicks Egg Grading Station at Carleton Place. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Comba Funeral Home of the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev James Ritchie of Almonte Presbyterian Church, officiated.

    ?b?Garnet James Rodger?/b?
    After a short illness, Garnet James Rodger peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 8th, 1976, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. Son of James Roy Rodger, and the former Gladys Seabrooke, he was born at Almonte on July 20th, 1943. He attended Church Street Public School, and Almonte and District High School. On August 22nd, 1968, he was married in the Presbyterian Church to the former Jacquelone Gagner, who survives. He was the devoted father of twin boys, Garnet and Gordon, and one daughter, Sarah, at home. He was employed as electronic technician at Leigh Instruments, Carleton Place, for a period of 13 years, where he acquired many friends. Since his marriage, he had resided in the village of Blakeney, and was highly regarded as a good friend and neighbour. Also left to mourn are his parents, two sisters, Mrs Eileen McNeely, Almonte, and Mrs Phyllis Haskins, Easton's Corners, and two brothers, Kenneth and Ernest, at home. He was buried at Auld Kirk Cemetery, on Saturday, September 11th, 1976, Rev P. Rumball officiating. Pallbearers were Leonard McNeely, Jack Wilson, Horst Fallak, Wayne Moore, Cecil Barden, and Robert Andrews.
