Born on 10 April 1857, at Ottawa, Ontario, son of Joseph Baskerville, he was educated at Ramseys Corners. On 26 December 1888, he married Jennie Oatway, daughter of Richard Oatway, of Perth, Ontario. They had six *children: Clifford W. Baskerville, Milton G. Baskerville, Lloyd O. Baskerville, Wallace R. Baskerville, (222nd. Battalion), Warren W. Baskerville, and Cyntha Lyle Baskerville.
He was elected to the Manitoba Legislature at the 1915 general election. He was a municipal councillor and school trustee for 27 years. He retired from farming around 1920 and moved into Dominion City. He died at his home on 31 January 1926 and was buried in the cemetery there.

Sarah (daughter of Richard McRae Oatway and Ann Knox) was born on 3 Nov 1863 in North Burgess Township, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; died in Mar 1939 in Hudson, Kenora District, Ontario, Canada; was buried in Dominion City Cemetery, Dominion City, Steinbach Census Division, , Manitoba, Canada. Obituary- Cyntha Lyle Robertson (nee Baskerville)
Died June 2, 1996 at Mount St. Francis Hospital in Nelson, B.C.
She was born in Langside, Man., the youngest of seven. She married Ronald Symon Robertson in 1938. They lived in Dryden, Ont., for some years before moving to B.C. finally settling in Vernon in 1964.
Cyntha will be remembered for her dedication to the United Church.
She is survived by her son Jack and his wife Barbara of Nelson, grandson Kim and his wife Sandra and their sons, Connor and Shane of Port Coquitlam, and granddaughter Kathy of New Westminster.
She was predeceased by her husband Ron in 1983 while holidaying in his native Scotland.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on June 8 at 10:30 a.m. at trinity United Church in Vernon.
