?b?Mrs Robert Dunlop Paid Final Tribute?/b?
The funeral of Mrs Jessie Jane Dunlop, widow of Robert Dunlop, a resident of Carleton Place for seventy years, was held on Thursday, September 4th, from Patterson Funeral Home, Lake avenue west. Eldest daughter of the late Daniel Drummond and his wife Marion McCullum, she was married to Robert Dunlop in June, 1888, and came here as a bride and has resided in her home, Hawthore avenue, since that time. She is survived by a son, Norman of Montreal, a daughter, Marion of Carleton Place, an granddaughter, Mrs John McLeish of Niagara Falls, Ont, and a great granddaughter, Sheila Marion McLeish; two sisters, Miss Marion C. Drummond of Ottawa and Agnes, Mrs Lawson Stewart of Arnprior, Seven brothers and two sisters predeceased her. In her 96th year, she suffered a stroke in the summer of 1945 and was confined to bed the last four years as a result of a fractured hip. She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church and was always keenly interested in all its activities. She read widely 'till the last few days of her life and was bright and cheerful and always intensely interested in people and events. The service was conducted by the Rev James M. Ritchie of Almonte and interment was in the Auld Kirk cemetery, Almonte. The pallbearers were all nephews: Dr M.M. (Mac) Drummond, Ottawa; George Drummond, Bristol, Quebec; Stewart Drummond, Ramsay; John Stewart, Arnprior; Peter Dunlop, Carleton Place and Gilmour Dunlop, Ottawa.

Jessie married Robert Dunlop on 20 Jun 1888 in Lanark County, Ontario, Canada. Robert (son of Andrew Dunlop and Mary Gilmour) was born on 16 Jul 1860 in Scotland; died on 8 Sep 1931 in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada; was buried on 10 Sep 1931 in Auld Kirk Cemetery, Ramsay, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada.
