    Graveside services for ?b?William John Kidd?/b?, 90, a resident of Corning - Paskenta area for 27 years were held today in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Corning, California. He died Wednesday, November 20th in a convalescent hospital at Redding following a long illness.

    William was born in Fort Ransom, North Dakota Territory on November 20, 1881 to parents William Thomas and Ellen (Madigan) Kidd. In 1901 he moved with his parents to Whiteson near McMinnville, Oregon where his parents started the Kidd Farm.

    On October 16, 1912 he married Goldie Elizabeth Beacom at Whiteson, Oregon. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1971.

    He was a carpenter in the construction industry in Amity, Klamath Falls, and Portland, Oregon. William later moved to the Corning -Paskenta area where he and his wife spent their retirement years.

    William was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Tillamook, Oregon and a member of the Christian Science Church.

    He is survived by his daughter Lila Ross (Gus) of Redding; a son Ellsworth "Lyle" Kidd (Norma) of Winslow, Arizona; brother Frank Kidd (Elizabeth) of Salem, Oregon; and two sisters, Clara Mae DeMonbrun (David) of Garden Grove and Bertha Alice Woodward (Oscar) of Long Beach; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    He is buried at Sunset Hill Cemetery next to his wife Goldie.

    NEWTON ? E. Lyle Kidd, 82, Newton, formerly of Clay Center, died Wednesday April 2, 2003.

    Mr. Kidd was born June 18, 1920, at McMinnville, Ore. He was a retired assistant general manager for the Santa Fe Railroad.
    Survivors include his wife, Norma; two sons, Doug and Roger, both of Wichita; a daughter, Cindy Soehner of Idalia, Colo.; and six grandchildren.

    The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Phelps Funeral Home, 217 W. First, Miltonvale. Inurnment will be in Miltonvale Cemetery, with military rites by Fort Riley. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

    Elsworth married Norma Jean Rauch on 6 Jul 1944 in Bly, Klamath County, Oregon, United States. Born and raised in Kansas, he was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and graduated from Kansas State University, where he met his wife of 45 years, Diana. He was retired from SC Johnson & Sons but lived for his family ? his wife, children, grandchildren, and more. Though often described as kind, patient, generous, ornery and funny, he was perhaps best known for his uncomplaining and upbeat spirit. He was an avid sports fan from professional sports to his granddaughters' soccer games. He was most at home when he was spending time with his family at their Eureka Lake cabin, where he taught innumerable children and adults how to waterski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Lyle Kidd. He is survived by his wife, Diana; daughter, Laura (David) Mayans; son, Brett (Melody) Kidd; brother, Roger (Paula) Kidd; sister, Cindy (Gary) Soehner; granddaughters, Gabriella Mayans, Chloey and Faye Kidd; numerous nieces and nephews. Vigil will be at 4:00 P.M. with visitation from 4:30?6:00 P.M. Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 6, 2017, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial immediately following at Ascension Cemetery.
