was born on 3 February 1912 in Nokomis, Saskatchewan. His parents were James Duncan and Lila Christina (MacFarlane) Kidd. His siblings were Mary, Kenneth, Margaret 'Ina' and Catherine Elizabeth 'Beth'. He moved to Ottawa and found a job as a civil servant. He married Freda Elizabeth Fenton on 27 September 1937. They had two children. Arthur died on 3 December 1980 in Ottawa. He was buried in Capital, Remembrance Gardens in Ottawa.

Joseph married Freda Elizabeth Fenton on 20 Oct 1937 in Ottawa, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada. Freda (daughter of William Frederick Fenton and Anna Mary Graham) was born on 23 Aug 1904 in Pembroke, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada; died on 12 Oct 1987 in Ottawa, Ottawa Municipality, Ontario, Canada. Suddenly at Russell Meadows on Friday May 8, 2015, James Kidd at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Betty (May). Dear father of Andrew (Vanessa Chang) and Sara (Sal Eldin). Loving grandfather of Zayden, Vivian and Lily. Predeceased by parents Arthur and Freda Kidd and his brother Gary. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St.(between Scrivens Dr. and Metcalfe corner) on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. Funeral to follow in the Chapel for service at 11 a.m. Interment North Russell Cemetery.
