    Mrs D. Fumerton
    On Sunday last after five or six months' illness from lung trouble, Mrs David Fumerton succumbed, at the untimely age of 47 years, leaving the husband and six children in deep sorrow. Deceased, whose maiden name was Christina Aitken, was a woman much esteemed by those she knew her. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon from the family residence on the Island, to the eighth line cemetery. A large number of sympathizing friends attended.

    Mrs William Toop
    There passed away at her home her Monday morning, a well known citizen in the person of Mrs William Toop, in her 65th year. Daughter of the late Mr and Mrs David Fumerton of Appleton, Ont., Christena Fumerton was married to the late Mr Wm Toop of Almonte who died four years ago. Mr and Mrs Toop had resided in Almonte since their marriage and were members of the Baptist church. There remain to mourn her loss, one son, Corp Arthur Toop, R.C.O.C. stationed at Barriefield Camp; three sisters, Mrs J.R. Tuggey, of Ottawa, Mrs W. Ashman of Pakenham and Mrs E. Coxford of Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Frederick Fumerton of Carleton Place; four step daughters, Mrs Ernest Little, Mrs James Guthrie, Mrs Lester Ford of Almonte and Mrs A. McLeod of Moose Jaw, Sask.; Three stepsons, Mr Sidney and Henry Toop of Brockville and Mr Fred Toop of Regina, Sask. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the funeral parlours of G.L. Comba, Church Street, to the Auld Kirk Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs James Guthrie, Edwin More, Lester Ford, Hubert Syme, Gordon Toop and Frank Honeyborne.

    Mr. James Fumerton
    Mr. James Fumerton died in the R. M. Hospital on Friday night. He was the eldest son of the late David Fumerton and his wife Christina aitken. Deceased was educated in Appleton and engaged in mill work throughout the country. He was in his 53rd. year and had been in poor health for some time.
    Surviving are one brother Fred in Carleton Place; and three sisters, Tillie, Mrs. Wm. Ashman, White Lake; Minnie, Mrs. Tuggy, Ottawa; Christine, Mrs. Toop of Almonte.
    The funeral was held from the home of Mr. George Comba, Almonte with interment being made in the Auld Kirk Cemetery. Rev. A McLauchlin conducted the burial service. The pallbearers were Messrs. Leonard Dowdall, Elmer Aitken, Joseph O'Brien, Cecil Turner, Sinclair Turner and Edward Lowe.

    The funeral of Frederick Fumerton was held Tuesday afternoon from the Alan R Barker Funeral Home, McArthur avenue, where Rev Dr Louis Shein conducted the service. Interment was made in Auld Kirk cemetery. Mr Fumerton died in Almonte hospital last Saturday. He was in his 64th year and had been ill since December. He boarded for the last seven years with Miss Ethel Samole on Princess street. Born at Appleton he was the son of the late David Fumerton and his wife, Christena Aitken. He was employed years ago with James Edwards in the grocery store and later at woollen mills here. Survivors include two sisters, one at White Lake and one in United States.

    Fredrick married Annie Leila Fumerton in 1909.     The remains of the late Mr Lorne Fumerton were brought here last Saturday night for interment in the eighth line cemetery. The deceased had been living in Hull and death was caused by pneumonia following influenza and took place Saturday morning. The late Mr Fumerton was a son of Mr David Fumerton of Appleton and lived his whole life there until a couple of years ago. when he moved to Hull. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Emma McFadden of Ashton, and two little sons; his parents and several sisters and brothers.

    -- We regret to learn of the death of Mr Lorne Fumerton which took place on Saturday morning at Hull, after a short illness of pneumonia. The body was taken to Almonte on Saturday evening and the funeral took place to the 8th line cemetery. He is survived by his wife, who was Emma McFadden, of Ashton, and two little sons, also his father and mother, four sisters and three brothers. One of those is Mr Fred Fumerton, of Carleton Place. Lorne was brought up in Appleton, being a son of Mr David Fumerton, and lived here continually until about two years ago, when he moved to Hull. The family have the deepest sympathy in their sad bereavement.

    - Serious Accident
    Mr Earl Fumerton of Carleton Place is in the R.M. Hospital suffering from severe burns. His car took fire in the Hotel Almonte yard at two o'clock Monday morning. Mr Peter Ferguson also of Carleton Place, who was with him was in the act of pouring water into the dry carburetor when it burst into flames. As the car was a closed sedan it was with great difficulty that he got Mr Fummerton out of the car, who was most severely burned. He was rushed to the R.M. Hospital where everything was done to relieve him. The car was a complete wreck.

    Lockjaw Follows Severe Burns in Auto Accident
    Earl Fumerton, the Carleton Place lad who was severely burned in an auto accident in Almonte about ten days ago died in the R.M. Hospital this Thursday morning. He succumbed to lockjaw.

    Of the sad death of Earle Fumerton, the Carleton Place boy who succumbed to burns sustained in a motor accident at Almonte, the Carleton Place Canadian says: "The young man was born in Appleton, but when a very small boy came to reside in town with his parents where he has spent practically all his life. Besides his father and mother, two sisters Muriel and Lenna, with one brother Ross survive. The remains were brought home on Thursday morning and the funeral which was largely attended, took place from his father's home to the Auld Kirk cemetery. The service was conducted by the Rev A. Rayburn Gibson who took as his text John 14th chapter and 2nd Cor., 17th and 18th verses. The pallbearers were all companions, namely John Ball, Lloyd Edwards, Charlie Hale, Howard Little, Bryan Drader and Theodore Nesbitt. Many beautiful floral tributes adorned the casket among them being: Wreaths, The Family, Pals; Sprays, Miss Viola Johnson, "Classmates" Alfred Connors, Lorne Garvin, Gordon Drummond, Dan Mather, Murray Dunlop, Gordon Cable, Charlie Hale, Clarence Edwards, Earl Connors, Beresford Hawkins; Pillows, P.S. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Earl, and sisters Lorna and Muriel.
