Age 73, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Debbie was born on June 5, 1938 in Dansville, NY. Debbie was a retiree from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center after many years as a medical transcriptionist. She was a member of the American Legion Post #154, VFW Post #6083, Elmira Elks BPOE #62, Horseheads Eagles Post #3818, Catholic War Veterans of Elmira Heights and a volunteer for several years at St. Joseph's Hospital. Debbie is survived by her children, Scott (Sara Kauffman) Coxford of Elmira, Kelly (Brian) Mchlentacher of Hornell, NY, John J. Flansburg of Bath, NY and Thomas (MaryAnn) Flansburg of Freemont, NY; stepchildren, Gary (Gayle) Coxford of VA, and Pat Avery of Canisteo, NY; grandchildren, Mathew Coxford of Jersey Shore, PA, Sarah (Jared) Whitney of Mansfield, PA, Kimberly Coxford of Middlebury Center, PA, Maria and Michael Coxford of Elmira, Christopher (Julia) Gardiner of Syracuse, NY and Patrick (Clara) Gardiner of MD; great grandchildren, Alexxis Whitney, Devin Gardiner and C.J. Gardiner; special thanks to friends that became family, Charlene and Mike Prior of Elmira. Debbie was predeceased by her husband, Wes Coxford in 1998. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
